Do you believe in lottery? As for me, I was skeptic in this question. I thought it was trickery. Providers just planned to make money on poor believers. But a month ago I came across rather interesting advertisement in the Internet. The title of it was “Write a short story and win a holiday in beautiful Bali”. The advertisement said:
“Now is your chance to put pen to paper and win a week’s holiday for two at the magnificent Jimbaran Puri Bali hotel in the island. The hotel is in a lovely beautiful place. It is located on the shore of a bay Jimbaran and is one of the best places for romantic vacation. Individual cottages with exotic gardens will help to feel the privacy and will give the greatest possibility to admire boundless seascape. Included in the prize are all expenses, a suite at the hotel plus breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The winners of the second, third and fourth prize will be given $1000, $500 and $250 in travel vouchers respectively. Now for the rules, you don’t have to fee to enter and if you want to increase your chance of winning you can write two entries – but no more. Manuscripts will only be considered if typewritten. Remember, stories shouldn’t be too long, they have to be 950 – 1200 words. The story must be original and unpublished. It must be your own. So, write a story to make us laugh, cry or frighten us or warm our hearts, and win the holiday of a lifetime”.
That was the content and true to say it made me interesting, because Bali was a place of my wife’s dream. She was desired to make a trip there for a very long time. And it was a great opportunity to make such wonderful gift to Christmas Eve and meet New Year in the island of her dream. And I started turn into reality my plan. I have written a wonderful story and in two weeks I was informed that I got a first prize. First I wanted to say about it to my wife immediately but then I decided to wait a little and make a surprise. But at last moment my boss said to me that this year Christmas Eve I would spend far away in New Your City in work. I was very disappointed. I have learned that this Bali trip is open for us during a year and I hoped we go there a little bit later when I could finish my business. And I planned to hold it in a secret before leaving. But now I think I will never make a trip with my wife to the island….
